Opportunities from the Bay Chamber Concerts
The Fall Foliage Adult Chamber Music Weekend draws adult amateur musicians from around the country to work with members of the Muir Quartet and friends, under the artistic direction of cellist Michael Reynolds. This year's coaches will include violinist Peter Zazofsky, violinist Bayla Keyes, violist Maria Lambros, and pianist Cary Lewis. Rosin your bow and join us in Rockport on October 8-11. Application deadline: May 15.
Maine State Competition—October 16
The Maine State Competition of the MTNA Student Competition will be held on Saturday, October 16, 9:30-11:30 a.m., at Minsky Recital Hall at the University of Maine in Orono. The application deadline is September 14.
The MTNA Competitions provide educational experiences for students and teachers and recognize exceptionally talented young artists and their teachers. Categories include Junior, Senior, Young Artist, Chamber Music, and Composition.

World Piano Pedagogy Conference—October 20-23
You are invited to attend the 15th World Piano Pedagogy Conference in Dallas, TX, on October 20-23. This year's theme is "Future is NOW." WPPC's mission is to provide excellence in teaching and music-making for today’s and tomorrow's musicians, piano teachers, students and audiences.
Presenters this year will include John Perry, USC, Colburn Conservatory of Music, Los Angeles; Yoheved Kaplnsky, The Juilliard School; Luiz de Moura Castro, Hartt School, Phillip Kawin, Manhattan School of Music, Edna Golandsky, The Golandsky Institute, and dozens more. Part of the program will be dedicated to the discussion of the future of piano teaching and music.
